National Senior Service Corps Cluster Conference Information

In 2001, the National Senior Service Corps will host five cluster based training events entitled Tapping Senior Power: Community partnerships That Work. The conferences will serve as the National Senior Service Corps’ primary approach to training and will make the first time that the National Senior Service Corps has actively sought the extensive participation of Sponsor Executive Directors and Project Directors together in a training conference.

The goals of these five three-day conferences are to bring together Sponsor Executives and Senior Corps Project Directors to:
  • Share the vision for the future of Senior Service and secure a commitment among all partners to expand Senior Service in ways that will capitalize on the aging of America;
  • Demonstrate to sponsoring organizations that using all streams of national service is a strategy to help them accomplish their own missions;
  • Provide Sponsor Executive Directors and Project Directors opportunities to share their ideas, expertise and effective practices; and
  • Facilitate teambuilding among Sponsor Executive Directors and Project Directs through a dialogue with respect to roles, responsibilities, mutual expectations and challenges in carrying out Senior Corps grants.
The five conferences will take place in the locations listed below at the following times.

Attached are materials that registered conference attendees may use to select workshops.

If you have not yet registered, please contact your Corporation for National Service state office for registration materials.

Some cluster conferences have pre and post activities. Conference attendees should consult the Cluster Conference Registration Forms for details.
