You may be bored or want something to jump start your life. Doing volunteer work suddenly occurs to you. You are not completely sure. You may ask yourself, “How do I figure out what I would do best as a senior volunteer?”
Your Interests
It is an inner journey to figure out what I would do best as a senior volunteer. Ask these questions to challenge yourself until you get an answer. “What did I like to do when I was younger? What were my hobbies? What are my hobbies now? Was I a member of any clubs or groups? What age group do I want to work with? What skills from my work and career do I want to use? Do I want to volunteer solo or do I want to be part of a larger group of volunteers?”
What Appeals To You
The secret to how I figure out what I would like to do best as a senior volunteer is to identify your passion with the self-exam described above. What is your identified passion? Focus on that area. If you like to teach, tutoring might be for you. If you ever worked in an office, a charitable organization could very well need you to volunteer in its office. Maybe you have leadership skills. Serve on the board of a nonprofit organization. You might like to work with your hands. There are sewing and knitting projects available. There is Habitat for Humanity.
The Nitty Gritty
For specific volunteer opportunities in your area use the computer (have your children/grandchildren help you if needed). Go to getinvolved.volunteermatch.org. Find ideas there for what you would do best.
Hi, there.
I’m the Volunteer Program Manager at the Sexual Assault Resource Center, and I was lucky enough to stumble across your information on the internet, since I hadn’t heart about your organization before.
I’m emailing you in the hopes that your volunteers may be interested in offering their time and support to our organization. I tried to search your website for information about how community organizations become fortunate enough to be listed among the opportunities you offer to volunteers, but I’m sorry I wasn’t able to find anything.
I would love to share with you more details about our agency and the various ways that our community supports sexual assault survivors and their families.
I hope to hear from you soon so I can learn more about how we might collaborate! Best~
I receive social security disability as a result of sexual assault. I have a degree in human services and would like to assist victims. Do you have information on organizations in Fresno CA that need a volunteer?
I am retired and looking for volunteer opportunities. Where are you located?
Thanks
We’re in Beaverton, Oregon. Please visit our website at sarcoregon.org or sarcoregon.org/sarc_help.asp for volunteer opportunities. Thanks for your interest!

I am currently writing my cv and wondered how important it was to include work based achievements? Do employers really care? Don?t they just care about my qualifications?.
I think that is important for those anyone drawing social security disability that you be careful not to volunteer more than 30 hours per month or you might be considered working by SSA and thus risk losing benefits.
Thanks for any other informative website. The place else could I get that type of info written in such an ideal way? I’ve a challenge that I am just now running on, and I’ve been at the look out for such information.
Hey! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? With thanks
