MY WIFE AND I RECENTLY VOLUNTERED FOR THE FOSTER GRAND PARENT PROGRAM.WE WERE NOT ACCEPTED BECAUSE MY PERSONAL INCOME WAS TOO HIGH.I AM A RETIRED AIR FORCE VETERAN AND MY WIFE TAUGHT HIGH SCHOOL AS WELL AS COLLEGE.OUR DESIRE IS TO BE A MENTOR TO THOSE THAT REQUIRE SPECIAL ATTENTION.I AM PUZZLED TO WHY MY PERSONAL INCOME IS A DETERMINING FACTOR FOR ACCEPTANCE IN THE PROGRAM.WE PERSONALLY BELIEVE THAT OUR LIFE EXPERIENCES AND ACADEMICS WOULD BE AN ASSET TO THIS PROGRAM.
