How is a person to know what coverage he needs when "he enters his Medigap supplement open enrollment period"? If I break my leg or get a disease in May, I had no way of knowing that in December. In my case I had to have spinal surgery in October. Obviously I did not know this was coming up when I selected my plan in December of the previous year.
