Why Can Medicare Deny Me?
What Is Medicare?
This Medicare is the government run health care program. It is a program that seniors qualify for to have some of their health care costs covered. This program has been set up as a way of helping a group of people that have little to no income coming in. This group of people also happens to be the one group that uses the most health care out of all people. This means that Medicare is in place to make sure that the nation's seniors do not go bankrupt.
Why Can This Program Deny Coverage?
Although Medicare is an entitlement program, there are things that can be denied in this plan. The reason for this is simply because there is not enough money to go around to cover all of the expenses that can be incurred by those who are on the Medicare program. There are people who are working paying into the system for those who are retired. The problem is that there are not as many people working right now (because of high unemployment) and there are more people who are becoming seniors (because of the baby boomer generation). Based on that perfect storm of factors, there is just not enough money to go around for everything. This means that there are things that Medicare can deny.
What Can I Do If I Am Denied?
The truth is that there is not much that can be done if you are denied by Medicare. The main thing that you can do is simply try to get some other kind of insurance to help you out. If you are able to do this, then you are going to find that you can get your health care expenses covered by the private insurance. That may be one of the only options available to you other than paying out of pocket if Medicare denies you.
