Extended Stay

The first of the many core benefits that are included in the Medigap Plans A-J are benefits for extended stay at hospitals. Part A of the plan will cover your stay in a hospital for up to 150 days that you are in the hospital in any given benefit period. Beyond that, the benefit will provide you with an additional 365 days that can be used over the course of your lifetime.

Co-Payments

The second of the many core benefits that are included in the Medigap Plans A-J are benefits for additional co-payments. Many people may find that the co-payments provided in traditional Medicare plans are not enough to cover the costs, and leave many people to struggle to make up the difference. Part B of the plan will cover the majority of the co-payment, as long as it is considered reasonable by the provider.

Preventative Care

The third of the many core benefits that are included in the Medigap Plans A-J are benefits for preventative care. Part E and J of the plan are designed to help people receive more affordable preventative care, which is not normally covered by an insurance provider. This could include routine physicals or checkups from a physician.
