I also am a Vietnam veteran and am, presently, assigned a priority 6 in the VA benefit program. I have received medicine from the VA for gout and prostate problems, and, also, for consulting with the VA doctor. There is a small but manageable copay for these services. I have been told there is no relationship or communication between the veterans services and healthcare elsewhere which means that for services not covered by the VA or Medicare a supplemental private policy must be purchased. If he get's Part A&B, can he use VA for supplemental? Or does he keep VA entirely. What if he get's medicare, can he use VA for checks ups etc.?
