This is a great way for seniors to remain both active and to feel like contributing members of society. Far too many retired persons and the elderly allow themselves to be come disconnected from their communities. Having a sense of purpose is vital no matter what your age.

The insurance market is very unstable at the time here in Brazil because of high taxes on vehicles and that are increasingly higher, as a result of we're wanting for new markets in different countries

My wife Barbara Allen Woods died in 2006. We
were married 12 years and I was 56 when she died. I remarried at age 58 and divorced at age 59. I'm currently 61 and receiving retirement from the Federal Government and working parttime. Am I eligible to draw from her social security since she only received
social security for 3 years before she passed away? If so, when am I eligible to draw it and what percent of her's will I get?
Thanks
Lamar

I was married to my ex-husband for 18 years, he has been remarried for the last five years. However, I have not remarried. Can I still collect his socail security, although he is remarried?

I am looking for a way to help others from home (preferably via internet or telephone) as I am disabled and can't get out and about much. Can you direct me to some sources where I might, somehow be of benefit?

I make less than $85K per year and according to the following, I should pay $96.40 per month, but am paying $199 per month: Help, please.

This is Medicare’s version of health insurance, covering health expenses incurred outside the hospital. The monthly premium for 2010 is $96.40 for most recipients. This applies to people who have the Social Security Administration withhold their Part B Medicare premiums and who earn $85,000 or less per year (or $170,000 for married couples filing jointly). All other Medicare beneficiaries will pay a premium of $110.50 per month

I was only married to my ex husband for 5 years but we had two children together. I raised my children by myself until my oldest was 15 then they went to get to know their father for a short time.He didnt pay child support for the first 10 years. The reason for our divorce was due to alcohol and spousal abuse, if not for that I would have stayed with him. I now feel that the laws should be changed for women who have children with these men because although I divorced him after only 5 years I raised his children and so remained connected to him and I never remarried. Anyway wondering how other women feel on this subject?

I will have an opportunity to opt out of Medicare. I'm 67(my wife too) and we've had Medicare ever since turning 65. I'm now employed at the local school district full time and will be eligible to sign up for there med ins
plan(both my wife and I) in July of this year. We don't need the Medicare coverage if I sign with their plan.
I've heard that there will be a penalty of opting back into Medicare when the time comes. Is this true and what is the penalty?

Thanks,Fred
